Thank you for a Great Year!
Dear Fellow Supporters,
I hope you are looking forward to making summer plans as another school year comes to a close. At the Edina Education Fund, our fiscal year is also coming to an end on June 30. To date, we have raised nearly $428,000 against our targeted goal of $480,000. Our goal was set with a modest 5% gain from $455,000 the prior year.
Thanks to generous support, we have funded many programs during 2010/2011, including the following:
- $46,500 for the Writing Center at the high school
- $11,000 for Technology Cohort for 25 teachers across all grade levels
- $16,000 to roll out Introduction to Engineering Design, a new Project Lead the Way course for 9th graders at both middle schools
- $24,000 for classroom technology in all elementary schools
- $60,000 for 22 teacher-written innovation grants
Furthermore, we have approved funding for the following significant grants for next year:
- $8,000 to fund training for the expansion of blended curriculum focused principally at the secondary level
- $30,000 for classroom technology in all elementary schools
- $37,500 to continue funding the Writing Center at the high school
- $11,000 to roll out the Civil Engineering and Architecture course under the Project Lead the Way curriculum
It has been a personally rewarding experience for me to volunteer my time to the Edina Education Fund. I feel fortunate to support an organization that directly benefits the educational development of our children while also adding tremendous value to our Edina community.
